Data We Collect
We believe in data minimization. We only collect the bare minimum amount of data required to deliver core app functionality:
- Device ID & Points System: To enable our rewarded points redemption features (allowing users to earn points to get ad-free access), we track points using a unique identifier tied to your device (
device_id). This is done without traditional user registration or login. - Optional Account Profile: If you choose to upgrade your guest account, we collect a display name and a user-defined 4-digit PIN. This helps sync your points and settings across devices.
- Favorite Teams: We store your selected favorite sports teams and nations to personalize your home screen and live score feeds.
Advertising
To keep our services free of charge, we display advertisements within the application.
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to serve banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads. Google AdMob may collect and process device-specific information (such as Advertising IDs) to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements.
- Ad-Free Redemption: Users can watch rewarded advertisements to earn points, which can be exchanged to temporarily disable all banner and interstitial ads in the app (available for 1-hour, 6-hour, or 24-hour durations).
Verification Details: Our official AdMob publisher records are publicly discoverable via our hosted app-ads.txt file, ensuring a transparent and secure ad supply chain.
Analytics
We utilize statistical and analytical tools to understand how users interact with Rebel Play so we can continuously optimize the experience:
- Firebase Analytics: We track anonymous user engagement statistics, Daily Active Users (DAU), screen views, and points redemption events. No personally identifiable information (PII) is linked to these metrics.
- Heartbeat Signal: The mobile app sends a heartbeat request to our server upon startup to help compile aggregate usage analytics for the developer dashboard.
Device Permissions
To support advanced features, the application may request the following device permissions:
- Network & Internet Access: Required to fetch live scores, match mappings, stream channels, and display ads.
- Notification Permissions: Optional, used to alert you when your favorite team scores a goal or when matches are about to start.
- VPN Interface Monitoring: The application monitors connection states to enforce regional content guidelines by blocking access when a VPN is actively running.
Data Security & Retention
We implement appropriate technical and administrative security measures to protect database records from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
Optional account configurations (name, PIN, preferences) are kept secure on our VPS server. You can request immediate deletion of your account and associated points at any time from within the app settings or by contacting our support team.
